About Rochester Premier Chimney Sweep: Small on Purpose
Ron Pellegrino started at nineteen, pointing brick on his uncle's masonry crew in Greece. He liked the work and hated how often a roofer would look at a chimney from the ground and guess. So when he started sweeping, the rule was simple: go up, look, take pictures, then talk price.
That rule is still the whole company. Joe Wegman, Ron's brother-in-law, runs the masonry side. Two sweeps handle the cleanings and camera inspections. Between them they work from two trucks, and honestly we like it that way. Nobody takes a job they have not seen from the roof.
We have been at it for more than 25 years between us in different spots around Monroe County. In our experience the lake teaches the same lesson every winter: water gets in through the top of the chimney, freezes, and does the damage while you are asleep. Almost every job we do is about keeping that water out.
We swept about 1,150 chimneys last year and we do not sell stoves or inserts. Fireplace stores do that well. We clean, inspect, line, cap and repair what you already have, and we give you a short plain note with the pictures so you can decide on your own schedule.
